About Us

Sankat Mochan Hanuman Sangha is the community of worshippers who congregate and support freedom of worship at the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple on Mount Madonna, in Watsonville, CA. The Temple was founded by Master Yogi Baba Hari Dass in 2003 with the vision to keep it open and free for all. The management of Mount Madonna Center (MMC) is enforcing a mandatory reservation system (MRS) as of March 1, 2017. The MRS drastically limits the number of people who can attend services at the Temple. Worshippers who come without a reservation are being turned away. On Saturday April 29, 2017 Sankat Mochan Hanuman Sangha organized a protest against the Reservation System. We collected 245 signatures on Petition in 6 hours. The protest was held on summit road where there are no pedestrians. All these signatures were from people in cars that stopped to sign our petition. That is one petition signed ever 88 seconds!!
